Do Wind holes in a banner make a difference?

Often when customers order banners from us they request wind holes. Often they aren’t able to tell us how many or where to put them, so we place them arbitrarily at what might seem an appropriate size.

For years, there has been an unanswered question; Do wind holes actually do anything apart from defacing the graphics?

It turns out that some scientists at the University of Queensland have done some tests and the results are quite revealing.

Conclusion
Wind holes only marginally reduce the wind loading typically 5%. You would be better served to reduce the size of the banner by 5% rather than deface the graphics.
